What is Women's Wellness Weekend?

Women’s Wellness Weekend is the annual Spring retreat for ladies age 21 and above to enjoy our 219 acre peninsula on an inlet off the Chesapeake Bay. Our spacious lodges are heated, carpeted, and come complete with bathroom and shower facilities. We offer a weekend full of great food, amazing speakers, workshops, the annual Craft Fair, movie night, square dancing and much more. Ladies have a wide variety to choose from everyday and can do it all or do nothing and just relax on the Dining Hall porch in a rocking chair with a book!

Who are the speakers and presenters this year?
?

Gigi Blair is an IAC certified coach who has helped many women with her focus on Lifestyle, Leadership and Image...How one Lives, Leads, and Looks.

Janet Awokoya is an independent fitness professional residing in the DC Metropolitan area. She entered the fitness world 10 years ago after years of traditional, aerobics classes and routines. Like many of you, she participated in various classes, lifted weights, and other activities that at times were effective, but often not. She was introduced to Zumba in 2002 and fell in love immediately! We are so excited she will be teaching a class on Zumba at this year's event!

Sue Bartley and Denise McKenney will give great tips for etiquette, manners and eloquent traditions lost in many daily lives with Lasting Impressions - The Face You Present to Others.

Kathi Linville is a Registered Nurse and Certified Clinical Specialist and will give a brief presentation on wellness including dealing with stress, anxiety and fear, coping with loss, resilience, and hope.

Dan Redditt will help solve the mystery of auto maintenance for participants this year, covering such topics as what to look for when buying a used car, how to check fluids and tire pressure, and more!

There will also be a variety of exercise instructors whose names and information will be available soon.

What happens at Camp Letts the rest of the year?

YMCA Camp Letts was founded in 1906 and is one of the oldest operating Resident Camps in the nation. We serve over 2,000 children each summer in our Traditional Day Camps, Equestrian Day Camps, Specialty Day Camps, One and Two-Week Overnight (Residential) Camps, Leaders in Training and Counselor in Training programs!

We believe that every child deserves an amazing summer camp experience! Programs such as the Silent Auction at Women's Wellness Weekend helps to raise funds to support our programs, facilities and our scholarship program, Building Bridges, a program that enabled us to give scholarships to over 125 deserving families in 2010. This year the need is even greater and we need your help!

YMCA Camp Letts also operates a year round Retreat Center with programs, lodging and catering for groups of 350 or more. We also have Family Camps Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekend each year so kids of all ages and their families can enjoy Camp and all the activities we have to offer. Other special events at Camp include Rockin' on the Rhode III our annual concert on the Rhode River on May 22nd, and the 6th Annual Golf Tournament June 16th at Renditions Golf Course in Davidsonville, MD, and our Turkey Chase 5k fun run/walk and 10k race on Thanksgiving morning each year.

Camp Letts is a branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington where we believe in strong kids, strong families, strong communities!
